Diplompräsentation 21. Jänner 2010

Nach einem guten Jahr intensiver Recherchearbeit und in Folge harter Schreibtischarbeit ist es nun endlich soweit: meine Diplomarbeit wird gerade eben gebunden und ich bin stolz, die Ergebnisse am 21. Jänner im Rahmen der Diplompräsentationen am 21. 1. 2010 um 10.40 im HS 3 der Angewandten zu präsentieren. Viele Beiträge auf diesem Blog waren bereits Einblicke in das Thema meiner Diplomarbeit: "Strick im Wandel - Vom subversiven Potential in den Strickarbeiten Rosemarie Trockels zum Aktivismus der aktuellen Crafting-Bewegung" - so der Titel, und dahinter verbergen sich strickrelevante Arbeiten Rosemarie Trockels und Anette Messagers, Sabrina Gschwandtners "KnitKnit" und eng damit verknüpft, McFaddens Ausstellung "Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting"; weiters finden sich Schlagworte wie Critical Crafting, Craftivism, Third Wave Feminismus, Do It Yourself, Guerilla Knitting, Strickgraffitti ect. wieder. Die Arbeit zeigt, wie Strick  im Begriff ist, aus seiner traditionellen Verankerung befreit und stattdessen neu im Radius von Design, Kunst und Aktivismus verortet zu werden.

This (maga)zine is published every 3 months in vienna and includes different content every time which features people in various ground, art, architecture, design, cooking, science, economy, sport, education, e.t.c…and shows their divers ideas and notions as an art piece which they make according to the specific theme. The theme of the first issue will be "time"and I was asked for a contribution. It will be distributed on the Rundgang of the Akademie from 21st to 24th of january 2010.
